Had a bunch of the gang over this Sat to watch England – thank goodness – beat Scotland in that lovely looking northern weather. Had 1.5 jocks in the room – Jane resplendent in tartan trousers, and Pam deciding to be her paternal English half self given the final result.<\/p>\n

Then it was time for – gulp – the last ever supper on our trusty dining table. This dates well before Hawksey so could be as much as 20 years old. But still solid as an ox and man, has it seen some action over the years!<\/p>\n

H got the fire going outside, Finn peed on our armchair yet again, Pam got louder as the night went on, Soph & Jane still delightfully loved up and have moved in together, Ashley appeared at the last moment as he often does – nice to be back hosting, except for the majorly smoky smell the next day as the mega Ciara wind blew most of it back indoors…<\/p>\n

I was slightly sad to see table & chairs go on Sunday morning to one of the receptionists at CCL – very pleased both were off to a worthy home though. Although we won't miss those angled table legs that some poor sod had to straddle every time there are 8 or more people. We became very adept at never sitting in those seats…<\/p>\n

Now waiting in with H for the new table and chairs to arrive – coming from 2 separate stores so just hoping they do actually go together. Oh, first world problems, but still hoping that they'll look nice – more shades of grey, just to go with everything else… x<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
