Mr H & I are just back from a long anticipated and very much enjoyed three night stay up with our friends Mandy & David, oop narth.<\/p>\n

SO lovely to see them and to enjoy the splendour of their ma-hu-sive still quite new pad, with its incredible green countryside views. And to wake up to endless moos and baas from the many four legged neighbours.<\/p>\n

Managed to do a nice long walk to a pub with outside garden – rather narrowly (I kid you not) avoiding being trampled by a herd of f+cking quick cows who almost blocked our exit from their field. Given this was one of the first walks I have used my walking poles on, my how glad I was to have something to wave in the air at them as we shouted and just about managed to peg it to the exit gate before they were upon us.<\/p>\n

Still, the pub lunch was well worth it and very well handled – still only a few customers, but that made it extra easy for us all.<\/p>\n

Followed by a Sunday of family descending – their 2 adult daughters plus hubbies and no fewer than 6 small grandsons between them. Check out those super cute little blondies opening the swing ball we'd bought and wrapped with pictures of small boys on them.. The sun even came out in our honour!<\/p>\n

And the lasting memory is of the amazing space they have up there – endless fields stretching out with stunning views of fields, farm animals, trees and barely another house to be seen. The perfect backdrop for boules, football (in the huge paddock!), Mr H to don a flat car as he cruised up and down on the ride-on mower, cups of tea admiring the view and evening drinkies. And luckily – when we managed to lock all four of us into their stable when the door swung shut, it was just about jiggle-able to avoid having the ignominy of having to call the farmer to let us out!<\/p>\n

Still a strange thing driving up and down as normally we take the much nicer train, but well worth it for a few days away feeling 'normal' and being able to catch up properly without being on a screen, which these days is a very lovely thing indeed x <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
