Ah the joys of myeloma continue – I'm currently in Parkside, having had one of my twice-annual BMBs. Its actually 2 months late as there have been no theatre slots, due to the hospital using the space for NHS patients. Which is obvs fine by me – while this is important to do, its not exactly super urgent when I'm well.<\/p>\n
Anyway, it meant me having my second COVID test as a pre thing to coming in today – and I can confirm that when someone else does the test for you, they definitely ram the magic wand further up your nose and down your throat than when you do it yourself! Cue the usual Scotty gagging and watering of eyes..<\/p>\n
Anyway – that's 2 precautionary hospital COVID tests for me now and both negative – let's hope we can keep that going till the vaccine phone call finally comes.. Interesting that despite the 'VERY HIGH' risk group warning, I am still only in the 6th group of people who will be offered it – lower down on the list than the Over 65s. So, that's sort of a good thing, assuming it is right.<\/p>\n
Also interesting getting a feel from people re their thoughts on planning trips for next year. So far ranging from the 'we've got a couple in the diary already' to 'the minute that jab is in, I'll be booking' to 'we might drive to visit family but apart from that no plans to go abroad in 2021'. Ah, where does the 'right' approach lie? Probably different for each person, as these initial chats seem to be suggesting.<\/p>\n
Well, just hoping to get another reprieve via the BMB results next week, so the coming months will still be ours to play with. And much as it is great to meet friends for walks – I for one will be very excited when there are a few different social scenarios to play with!<\/p>\n
At least I got the statutory post-op tuna sandwich today – one of their better ones, I think they used an extra teaspoon of mayo this time, so less claggy than usual. I've clearly had far too many over the years to even know this, sigh. Small mercies.<\/p>\n
One more hour and Mr H can come and spring me outta here. It's nearly the weeeeeekend x <\/p>\n
