Ah sweet – niece number 3, Abbie, is now living in Hammersmith and we got the 'please help us' call this week. They have a narrow entrance hall that heads straight up their stairs and had 2 bikes crammed into the space – one of them my old one! They had tried to fix their newly-bought bike hanging devices to the wall, with the result that several large chunks of plaster had fallen out and the bikes were still firmly in the way at floor level..<\/p>\n

So Mr H and I headed over and H – bless him – spent 3 full hours, showing Nick (and his lockdown lack of haircut!) how to hang one from the high ceiling, with a complete pulley system, and the other one from the wall. Gave me a really precious opportunity to chat to Abbie for ages, and get to know her, and the sisters sibling dynamic, a bit better. <\/p>\n

Plus they stumped up a roast chicken, which is always a Brucey bonus… And the bikes were still hanging a whole day later, phew..<\/p>\n
