Which was good given poor Ginny had an emergency op on an unknown hernia a couple of weeks ago, on the same day as she had already been to St George&#8217;s for a cataract op that morning. She has most often been asleep in bed for our recent visits, and unable to say anything or eat apart from sipping on a protein drink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/scottysblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/32B87C39-45EB-4A64-9F31-CB80C9EF17C6_1_105_c.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2158\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scottysblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/32B87C39-45EB-4A64-9F31-CB80C9EF17C6_1_105_c.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/scottysblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/32B87C39-45EB-4A64-9F31-CB80C9EF17C6_1_105_c-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/scottysblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/32B87C39-45EB-4A64-9F31-CB80C9EF17C6_1_105_c-768x576.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, we are all hopeful that we will be back there in 4 weeks time when I &#8216;pop back&#8217; (if only it was that quick!) to the UK for treatment, mid Spain trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maureen even managed a nibble on a couple of small chunks of watermelon, a tiny touch of normality and Muriel was chuffed that sh&#8217;e chosen a good thing to bring.
