Well, it went pretty well. Was hoping for – get this – two million stem cells per kilo of my weight. Which is one heck of a lot of stem cells I can tell you. After 3 days of being attached to the magic machine for 4-5 hours per day, I got enough for this transplant and 1.43 million towards a sec<\/span>ond one, so not the 4 million full house we were hoping for, but not a train smash either.<\/span><\/p>\n

Harvest Highlights:<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

– Janine trying to entertain me by playing the 'what am I going to pull out of your rucksack next' game (it's a winner!)<\/span><\/p>\n

– Beating Liz Tinlin at Hangman using 'Juno' as the film title she had to work out – highly recommended, is a tricky one to guess!<\/span><\/p>\n

– Managing to hold having a pee for 5 hours each day, no mean feat…<\/span><\/p>\n

Lowlight<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

– Nurse today taking 4 goes to find a vein, and in so doing hitting my wrist bone with the not tiny needle (yes, while it was in my arm) so much so that the needle come out bent<\/span> – ay karamba, OW OW OW!<\/span><\/p>\n

So – onwards towards the Transplant next week – 4 days of 'feeling human' to go and a whole lot of soon-to-be-banned foods to be scoffed before then (runny eggs brunch chez Hatch, Thai dinner Fri eve and must get some prawns in too somewhere….)<\/span><\/p>\n
