Well, it's a week till my next Prof visit <\/span><\/strong>and this is when I tend to start getting a bit nervous. I actually get butterflies in my stomach and wonder what on earth they're doing there… then the feeling of 'oh bugger it's coming soon' starts to seep into my head. Silly really as there's nothing you can do till the latest scores on the doors come through and he either drops a bombshell or doesn't… but it still gives me the heeby jeebies.<\/p>\n

In the meantime – had a total blast in Le Touquet on Le Hockey Tour<\/span><\/strong>. SO nice to feel 100% better than this time last year – even though I hadn't been diagnosed, I was in major pain last May – couldn't lie down, couldn't roll over, certainly couldn't play and spent the night clutching my ribs in fear that someone would prod me by accident – OUCH. This year – BLISS – able to play (albeit terribly unfit and lardy) but blagged being allowed to play up front (as too fat to chase any attackers if I play in defence) and managed to pot another three goals! Tra la la, shove that up your continental hooters.<\/p>\n

AND – we had a fight!!<\/span><\/strong> Played a really crap Belgian team, with lots of mutual verbal winding up going on throughout the match – 'putain', 'you are fat', 'merde' etc being bandied about in the true spirit of entente cordiale. Ended the game with one of the lovely ladies smacking our Pam round the back with her stick – so I piled in to protect her (aka have a go) and she whopped me round the head with her stick! Cue lots of argy bargy, threats to call 'Les Gendarmes' and she got banned from playing. Spent the entire evening hunting them around Le Touquet but to no avail – mind you, after we'd played the 'head on a stick' game and climbed back out of the hedge that it inevitably made you fall in, I'm not sure I could have taken her kitbag on, let alone a stroppy Belgie, so prob all for the best.<\/p>\n

Was also mine & Hawksey's 2nd anniversaire<\/span> –<\/strong> ah bless – so we of course abided by all tour rules, went in separate cars, had separate rooms and pretty much ignored each other until a spot of dancing in le Sports Bar was finally permitted…. aaaaaah.<\/p>\n

OH – and I met Zoe too!<\/strong><\/span> She's Hawksey's daughter, now aged 8 and a half and very into pink, acting, the gym, golf and all things girly. Having spoken to each other on the phone a few times, we had her round to lunch to see Daddy's house, meet me, play with the kittens (they went down well!) and see her new room. Which apparently has to be painted purple, somewhat reminscent of Parkside so thi<\/span>nk we'll have to find a shade that's different to their lilac hues. She did like the lizards, so they get to stay – hurrah. But where am I going to dry my laundry now??! Anyway, all a great relief and good start – and very amusing meeting a small female version of Hawksey – surreal! So I think I now officially have a step daughter – double surreal, and a jolly good weapon to make Daddy go shopping more as she's keen on the purchasing front too. Unlucky big fella!<\/p>\n

PS Early hair warning<\/span><\/strong> – the Judy Dench look appears to be waning in favour of the 'crinkle cut chips with tufts sticking out horizontally' look. Suspect it's only the start of a bad slide into hair gel and some newfangled fuzz management substance that is apparently called 'fudge'… Or maybe that's the name of the technique as you try to control naughty locks behaving badly…?! Either way, I'm going to look right a right knob for quite a while. It has even called for me getting my hairbrush back out of the cupboard for the first time in 5 months – ta da!<\/p>\n

Happy June – could hardly believe there was already a magazine out at my pedicure lady's salon with 'July 2009' on the cover – where is the time going? More mojitos definitely needed. Sx<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
