Where am I? No, not the start of a 'here's ten clues and you have to guess' contest (although that could be mildly entertaining) but more the thought in my head when I woke up in yet another strange room in the murky depths of last night and had no idea where I – or the loo – was. And no – I hadn't pulled (apart from the thick duvet into a doubled over depth on me, having fallen asleep with hotel robe on, thence waking up sweating like a salty confused buffalo).<\/p>\n

So – had a top weekend in Italy for hockey chum's 40th birthday a few days ago, made all the better by her shipping in a dozen Irish chums, most of whom were politely older and wrinklier than me. Made for an interesting comparison – the Irish had 18 children between us and the non-Irish (10 of us?) – a grand total of one. Which belongs to one of the non-straight birds, created in a moment of – must have been gay abandon??!<\/p>\n

But then had the joyous journey back – a game of two halves, starting with scum class, no seat scrambling frenzy on Ryan (barely Flyin') Air, all the way back from Ancona (where? an airport where the cold drinks fridges are for some reason kept chained closed, for fear of an actual sale) to the hell of Stansted (stand-still-stead), from whence I got the actually quite speedy choo-choo home.<\/p>\n

To then spend 1 hour changing my luggage over (out went the Snotty Snotter drinking game and unused sports kit, in went the dull worky stuff and a hopeful – never used, but maybe you lose calories for just packing it? - bikini).<\/p>\n

And then off to LHR for a nice 13 hours of BA Club class – free cashews and overly-wet hand cream in the loo well worth the extra \u00a34k for the seat. Almost a disaster as H kindly dropped me at T5 only for me to then discover the bleddy plane was going from T3. Yes, that does serve me right for not checking, numpty. To then find myself here in Singapore, staying at the rather plush Fullerton Hotel. Top cocktails (well, there has to be some upside to travelling on my lonesome) and quite a nice Red Snapper curry for me tea just now.<\/p>\n

CAN'T WAIT though to get home on Thurs – have been to Vietnam, Singapore, New York, Miami, Greece, Italy and now Singers again since 2nd Aug – and even I've had enoughski already! Quite happy to push some papers round my desk and file the mammoth email pile-up for the next week, while I take Mum out again for lunch and take advantage of her memory deficiency by convincing her it is yet again her turn to pay.<\/p>\n

The prospect of a long overdue to be sorted Chores list and a Mojo to sleep on my head in my own bed, with me fella – bring it on already.<\/p>\n

Then no more worky travel till H and I go on our poshy hols to Mauritius on 6th Oct, hurrah hurrah!!!! Did I mention we are nauseatingly going First Class pish-pash-posh on BA? Yes, well that's why I have to stump up my BA American Express card at every \u00a32 purchasing opportunity and beg 'do you take Amex?' like an endless Krishna mantra. 2 free tickets in uber-snot class, where even I may be forced to drink the flowing premium champers just because we can!<\/p>\n

Anyway – several weeks to go till that one rolls round, plenty of time to fall off my bike or be choked with excess cat fur till then – or so you may wish.<\/p>\n

Off to see if the tiny video I need from work has finished its ridiculous hour and a half download time – suspect the Interweb connection has cost AV more than I can make selling it! No change there then..<\/p>\n
