Yes, that's a title to irritate the pants off anyone stuck in the great British drizzle and howling October gales. And something I've waited donkeys years to be able to say! Mauritius is up there with the Maldives and Seychelles and all those 'only worth going with a bloke \/ on honeymoon \/ when you don't give a toss about the cash and its the white sand that counts' places. At least two of the three apply to us..<\/p>\n
Weather still looking a bit less than perfect (who ordered the clouds??) but it'll take us two days to get over consuming our bodyweight in free booze in BA First class, so that only leaves 6 more to fill with diving, sailing, snorkelling, golf for H (me being the ditzy bint driving the golf buggy), highly competitive games of cards and maybe even the odd bit of exercise (just maybe…)<\/p>\n
Talking of competitive – fab night Chez Hatch yesterday including 3 highly charged hours of uber-battle between our two teams playing the Name Game. Hawksey deducting points from our (superior) team for swearing, while cheating massively reading the answers through the inferior scraps of paper. Anyway – lovely to see Mr & Mrs Andy Morts, Lyds, Fitz and the Hatch clan, ta very much for splendido evening. And yes Hatch, you are a cabbage for quiching out at 10pm – anyone would think you had turned 40 this week.<\/p>\n
So – I will be off Typepad for about 8 days and hopefully then able to post some nauseatingly turquoise photos of the lovely beaches and absolutely no pictures of me in a bikini on our return. Hope not too many harpoons in our sandy paradise, as I will be even more of an endangered species than I already am, if the whalers are out hunting while we're there…<\/p>\n
And if it makes you feel any better, I will be putting myself into the misery of the new gym and dieting routine on my return so you can gloat and waft bacon sandwiches and crisps under my nose, in the knowledge that I will probably claw them from your grasp like a polar bear scenting a tasty seal cub on the wind..Diets schmiets….. Urggh.<\/p>\n
So, here's hoping for no Delhi belly, decent diving visibility, limited rah-rah folks around the pool, zero spoiled kids, Diet Coke costing less than a fiver a pop and a great view of the sunset from our room, when G&T time rolls round…<\/p>\n
