No, no, don't worry – its definitely still on, oh yes – I just seem to be in a slight spot of 'wedding funk' – the equivalent of matrimonial snow blindness I think.<\/p>\n
Has been utterly brilliant that everyone is delighted at our news, but the scary corollary seems to be me looking like a rabbit in major headlights at the 'how much wedding planning have you done yet' questions you then get. Most feared ones so far:<\/p>\n
1. When's the big day (answer: No idea, haven't even got onto the first website to start looking for the probably terribly elusive venue yet. Feels like a big old task to get cracked – and not much time to do it!)<\/p>\n
2. Which month is it most likely to be? (Answer: Also no idea, but we'd like to do the deed early next year, ideally April to June… obviously mostly to max our chances of me not being on treatment and back in the horror world of Myeloma again, somewhat likely to knock the shine off a wedding day. So yes, adds to the pressure as its not far off)<\/p>\n
3. Can you avoid X, Y and Z dates – our holiday \/ another wedding already \/ hoping to go away for the Bank Hol etc? (Answer: God we'll try but suspect we'll be totally hostage to whatever the availability is of anywhere half decent, as next Spring isn't far away! If there are dates you def can't do, then drop me an email as of course we'd love our close chums to come!)<\/p>\n
4. Is it going to be a Saturday? (Answer: It's our first preference, but looking at points 1-3 above, suspect we may have to embrace a Friday! Maybe a lucky cancellation will come our way…)<\/p>\n
5. What's your colour scheme and theme for the wedding? (Answer: What the fuck is one of those?? That was DEF a 'wide eyed rabbit' moment.. I've been warned off using butterflies… but not sure they were top of my non-existent list anyway)<\/p>\n
6. Are you wearing a veil? (Answer: I don't even know if I'm wearing a bleddy dress & big knickers yet, so hold the detailed questions for 2011 – at least! Starting to think doing it in a wetsuit might be better – does suck it all in…)<\/p>\n
At least we have the Engagement drinks in the bag – H is ordering some canapes today, so that's the easy bit done, then on to the rest of the kit & caboodle once I've drunk myself into a Happy Birthday oblivion this weekend.<\/p>\n
PS Any budding wedding planners out there – let me know, as all hands on deck v useful!<\/p>\n
Am sure it will all fall magically into place, perhaps it is just my inability to use an Excel spreadhseet that's putting me off – I may just have to do it all in Powerpoint and it will be in the bag before I know it…<\/p>\n
