Despite all the best planning in the world (obviously mostly mine), Hawksey & I find ourselves in a bit of a pre-wedding flap. Lots to do and only 9 days to go, eek eek eek, giant rodent squeaking on a major scale.<\/p>\n
OK, so preparations not entirely helped by me whipping off to NY over the May bank holiday to boost the honeymoon wardrobe and batter the credit cards. Cue at least 24 hours of solid shopping spread over 3 days, very sore feet, the usual statutory night in a piano bar (I SO still love it when they play Piano Man, what a Billy Joel sucker I have always been), a cute crocodile dish to add to my collection of odd reptilian decorative items and a splendid upgrade to Club on the way home. Eating my Gold card shorts all the way home…<\/p>\n
And of course H having his Stag weekend. Which was always going to be a messy one, let's face it. 4 nights on the boat in various south coast locations including glamorous Weymouth. Hmmm mmmm. But seemed to go well, especially the foam party (imagine 15 hairy-arsed 40-somethings in a nightclub with teenage bikini-ed 'I married my cousin' fuglies, what a scary picture), And then the sailing competition, resulting in H coming home with multiple gouges and sores in his feet (I thought he'd been crucified, and not by me for once) and massive bruises on both his thighs…. I don't really want to think where they came from. I knew it was all going downhill when the first photo of him arrived - in a bar, in a dress, ripped at the bum, him clearly in a gone-where-the-sun-don't-shine g-string and with his entire butt hanging out for all to see… delish.<\/p>\n
Anyway – am currently stuck in a 3 day workshop – what a way to head off on maritals and honeymoon! And I just noticed that maritals is an anagram of martials…. is that meaningful, some kind of jiu-jitsu relevance?<\/p>\n
