Not quite sure what to say here, as right now I'm not quite sure what the picture is.<\/p>\n
Saw Prof today and the myeloma quagmire seems again to possibly be lapping at my feet.<\/p>\n
Paraprotein score last time I saw him was 2 – which he said today was 'something I (he) wouldn't ideally like to see'. Well, step into my wet flipflops pal and I can tell you its something I definitely NEVER EVER wanted to ever see again.<\/p>\n
Anyway – went through the usual rigmarole of pee in a pot and do a blood test. Well, in fact to over-share with you all (in a slightly forlorn attempt to inject humour into my post) I went into the loo, peed dutifully into the jug that they give you (no wee-d on fingers in the private sector, I can tell you), then for some reason flushed it straight down the loo and tidily threw the jug into recycling…. minus the somewhat key step of transferring some golden liquid into the pot for testing. Cue having to have a cup of tea, glass of water and 45 mins of jiggling hopefully until round 2 could be attempted….<\/p>\n
But anyway – the long and the short of it with Prof is that instead of a nice 6-8 weeks before seeing him, he's actually called me back tomorrow arvo, as he's getting the paraprotein results hurried through so I'll have a better picture of what's what before the weekend.<\/p>\n
(My what fun I will have at the Tesco pitch tomorrow morning, before coming back late afternoon to see the Parkside executioner…)<\/p>\n
So – as ever, some chance that it'll still be stable, and no organ damage done. Some chance that it'll have gone up – either a bit or a lot - and with that the possibility of some organ damage or other less than favourable indicators (such as the thrilling roller-coaster rise of Bence-Jones protein in the urine. One of the many unfathomable 'what does that mean' challenges that comes with this weird bloody disease). But no news till then, we'll just see tomorrow.<\/p>\n
Will post over the weekend once I know and have mustered some thoughts. Mostly of the 'fuck off you bastard evil unwanted cells' variety…. Have as many of these yourselves as you'd like to, and maybe the little fuckers will, like the scumbag rioters, crawl back under the rank stones from whence they came.<\/p>\n
