{"id":124,"date":"2023-04-23T16:55:55","date_gmt":"2023-04-23T16:55:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scottysblog.com\/espana-here-we-come\/"},"modified":"2023-04-23T16:55:55","modified_gmt":"2023-04-23T16:55:55","slug":"espana-here-we-come","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scottysblog.com\/home\/espana-here-we-come\/","title":{"rendered":"Espana here we come.."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Heading off tomorrow to ferry across from Portsmouth to St Malo, day one of our trip to Madrid to start with, then on to a house on the south coast of Spain for the whole of May.<\/p>\n<p>Meeting Janine &amp; Ross in Madrid for a spot of sightseeing, ambling about, scoffing of lovely Spanish food and of course the all-important visits to watch the Madrid Open (tennis).<\/p>\n<p>Then it&#39;ll be the second schlep southwards to a little place called Chiclana de la Frontera, near La Barrossa. Basically in between Cadiz and Gibraltar, a way further east than the house we stayed in the last time we spent a few weeks in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>I&#39;m away for a total of 4 weeks &#8211; all I can possibly squeeze in between Parkside dates &#8211; and H is away until 8th June, about 6-7 weeks. Maddie is coming with us &#8211; celebrating her first birthday tomorrow in the car then on a ferry overnight, oh the glamour. But at least the house has a small pool, so I suspect she will be doing lots of hydrotherapy to help build up her ACL again post her operation&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Feeling a bit nervous about the whole thing at the moment (the last time we drove down through France, the car suspension burst and we didn&#39;t see the car agin for about 6 weeks, till it was repatriated back to Wimbledon!) So, hoping that all goes smoothly, and that we&#39;ve got the right ULEZ permits for France &#8211; and the Spanish one doesn&#39;t catch up with us in the form of a fine, as those don&#39;t seem to be available quite yet&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Annoying photos of sunshine (we hope!!) to follow.
