A touch knackering though it is, at my old age, you'v gotta love a week like this:<\/p>\n
Tues:<\/p>\n
– Supper with Andy Morton and Fitz, Morts gracing us on his annual return from his new abode Down Under, and Fitz travelling from the heady delights of Clapham South and her never-ending (poor you!) loft conversion.<\/p>\n
Wed:<\/p>\n
– A very pleasing start with Liz T managing to snaffle tickets to the Queen + Adam Lambert (brilliant US guy) concert in July for me & Mr H too<\/p>\n
– Tea with Claire Smith \/ White in peeing down Epsom to discuss the Aces hockey AGM this weekend (be afraid, you girls, be very afraid)<\/p>\n
– Dinner at Mikey & Margo's pad, a very fine porky mustard melange and a much overdue catch up and chinwag (Mikey have you had that barnet trim yet?)<\/p>\n
Thurs:<\/p>\n
– About to head down to the boat by train (ah, several hours of uninterrupted Harbourmaster Ipad joy as we go chuff chuff chuff) and maybe even a bit of Liz's app recommendation Hex-doo-dah too<\/p>\n
– An evening get Bart totally sloshed as he dries out from a day on the waves and under the thrashing rain, polishing up his navigation skills with Old Cap'n Pugwash Hawkes himself<\/p>\n
Fri<\/p>\n
– Spot of sailing in the rain (or more hopefully an early return home for a hot bath), then dinner with the lovely Liz Lewzey and Mr Keith 'I missed your wedding so owe you supper' Tilson at some splendid Italian noshery in town<\/p>\n
Sat<\/p>\n
– A dangerously early noon kick off for the Aces AGM, morphing seamlessly into the end of season bash (and inevitable carnage). Placing bets now as to who falls off chairs, gets barred by the bar staff, loses their purse, drops their tickets all over the train platform, can't remember how to get home, phones their partner to beg for a lift then gets the train anyway as he drives miles to pick them up or vomits galore. Ah – that was last year, what will this one hold? <\/p>\n
– A lucky 5pm escape for me, as got Nicky, Jules, Vicki, Tina, Keytes and the returned-from-RAF-duty-in-Afghanistan Sophie coming for dinner. 2 boys vs 4 girls; Not a chance of them winning that set-up. Note to self: Must defrost the bag of Smash…<\/p>\n
Sun<\/p>\n
– Collapso blotto on sofa with lots of Desperate Housewives and Glee to catch up on. And possibly in the afternoon, my whole 3rd ride since purchase on new bikey. My bum has almost recovered from 20 very long miles and endless potholes last weekend, even padded shorts seem to make naff all difference when pitched against the UK road and holes system.<\/p>\n
Still, less than 2 weeks till H and I are nauseatingly off to the Maldives for 12 days, so any exercise to counterbalance the ingestion of the week, a good plan!<\/p>\n
Rememeb to pack a brolly folks, its a waterfall out there, S x<\/p>\n
