So, have just spent the weekend in sunny Harrogate, well mostly, visiting H's friends David and Mandy, but very much also their two canine Springer Spaniel friends, Libby and Macy.<\/p>\n
Almost a 'try before you buy' weekend away, as it's now only 4 weeks till we go to pick up Scrumpy, who has gone from being a 60% fairly likely to happen possibility, to pretty much a shoe-in. Or should that be a 'shoo-in', which we've done quite a lot of with the dogs, over the past 2 days away.<\/p>\n
Amazed we got this far north anyway, given the torrential rain on the way up, flooded train tunnels and shag awful forecast, not helped by Wimbledon Centre Court looking pretty much bathed in glorious sunshine as we slogged our way steadily northwards and wet-wards. But had a night in the
Harrogate Hotel du Vin, minus the vin pour moi, and a very useful morning shopping before our hosts came to collect us as it transpired that I had packed walking boots, waterproof trousers, a hat etc etc – but not actually any clothes to wear. Well, Friday morning was a bit of a flap post-prof, from
whence we then shot train wards.<\/p>\n
And yes, Prof was in one of his loquacious bullshitting modes, rather annoyingly. My usual questions on the lines of ' so you've just given the keynote speech at some massive global myeloma conference, is anything new coming through that might lead to a cure?' and 'what's the latest thinking
on donor transplants?' was met by the usual boffing on about cells, how interesting the views in breast cancer care are and his next holiday…. Like, hello!!! Any time you'd like to talk about me, do let me know.<\/p>\n
So am waiting for results till either end of mon or more likely, tues some time. Hey ho, am vaguely chilled about them this time, mostly as am so busy that have no headspace to fret, but also as just feel vaguely lucky this time round. We will see if that is a wise inkling to follow or not,
this week!<\/p>\n
Back to Harrogate, one very nice weekend, an awful lot of dog slobber, throwing of balls and pine cones, scratching of heads, both canine and our own, and I think Scrumpy is now def coming to live with us. We have spent three hours ordering dog stuff on the tinternet, amazing how much stuff a
small furball may or may not need, but coming it all is. Especially the colourful chewy rope thingy which I rather liked the look of…<\/p>\n
So, if you hate dogs, come and visit us soon. I have ordered the killing pet smell tea lights for once Douglas is here, so if our place still niffs of wet beast, then do tell us and we will put the puppy
shampoo into action…<\/p>\n
Happy Sunday eve, a few more hours of wondering if Murray will ever win or even smile, and a good nights sleep for all x<\/p>\n
