So, Scrumpy has been with us for a whole 10 days now. She's progressing massively… But man is there a long way to go still!!<\/p>\n
She's been out for her first few walks, actually going on her lead pretty well, with a very proud and happy Daddy guiding her along. We have discovered the existence of a whole new park, yes it's the closest to the house and I've lived here oooooh only for 22 years, but there is a whole hidden park just one block back from us! Just shows what you never know till you either have kids or a woofer.<\/p>\n
Our routine is evolving as madam howls us out of bed at about 5am at the moment, her second howl for release from her crate in the night, and the one that signals that a mere poo is not enough – sleep is no more and it's time to play. Yes it is just like having a baby – good job i didnt know that before we
got her – but this one can run for Britain!<\/p>\n
And it's amazing how people treat you differently when you have a puppy. People who'd normally walk straight past you now stop, want a stroke – ideally of Scrumpy – and you end up having conversations where nothing would have happened in the past. It's kind of nice really, a bit like an instant way to get back to the old days when neighbours and communities did actually converse. And at least it's fairly brief, a chat and a stroke and off we go.<\/p>\n
Not sure I can write much more as am being distracted by the hideous sound of crunching behind me. It seems our furry friend is part French as she's eaten practically every snail in the garden already. Yesterday it was the bulbs, also nice and crunchy, before that it was the herbs which are tasty but lacking in bite and today the bleddy snails, gross. If only she'd eat the slugs, now that I wouldn't say no to…. <\/p>\n
Now that Virgin Media have deigned to resurrect our Internet and tv services, brilliant that it was down during the Olympics, NOT – I'll add some photos here. Mikey and Margo came to visit with little Patrick on Sunday and Scrumpy was very good, only took one of Patrick's plastic cups out into the garden for a good chew, then had to be distracted when she took a firm liking to his furry monkey, something he was definitely not going to give up without a battle…<\/p>\n
