So, I tried Qatar Airways for this trip to Kathmandu and have got as far as the lounge in deserty Doha. Always a joy to land somewhere at 3.15am UK time, cheeeeeers. All majorly beige as you come in to land, that'll be the endless sand then. Makes Dubai look variegated…<\/p>\n
But all is suitably la-la here in the Lounge, apart from the silent armies of Burkha-clad formidable females. One with a particularly Hannibal Lector-esque face grill, shiny golden of course, remained a mystery as I tried to catch a glimpse of how she actually put food in her burkha-barred mouth…<\/p>\n
Next flight will deposit me in Kathmandu, to meet my guide for the next two days. Here's hoping there's not too strong a niff of BO in the car, and that if there is, it is at least, not coming from me….<\/p>\n
