… Try a few crackng hours at the Absinthe Bar. One of the best nights out I've had in ages – it's an underground, perfect size, proper piano bar with a top notch singer blokey giving it large on the ivories.<\/p>\n

Singing – thank god – in English – and accompanied by increasingly raucous crowd howling as the imbibement of said wondrous absinthe increased…. Oh, We Built This City, were Just a Smalltown Boy and then became Dancing Queens for several hysterical hours.<\/p>\n

Doing the absinthe thing does feel somewhat like cooking crack – given the hidden underground location, the slotted silver spoon, the precious liquid and the imminent effects - but what a bloody great night. Add in us all being painted in the French flag colours (the footy was on that night), and the compulsory hats to be worn and swapped, and it ROCKED.<\/p>\n

One top recommendation if your ship ever happens to come in round there…. S x<\/p>\n
