Off to Devon
OK – it's certainly not two weeks in Ethiopia and Dubai, but beggars with bad backs can't be choosers, so we're off to 'sunny' (ish) devon tomorrow for a long weekend. Have booked a nice looking cottage within the grounds of Combe House Hotel in Honiton, so am awaiting the massage lady's arrival tomorrow with great anticipation..not…

Wimbledon Ladies Hockey Club 125th Anniversary
Givne that we were meant to be in Ethiopia I hadn't given a lot of though to the event planned this weekend at WHC – my old stomping ground for 10 years between the ages of 20 and 30. But was SO pleased that I went along, both to the Saturday evening drinks and hobnob, and…

5 days..
… since playing the first match of the 2014-15 hockey season and I am happy to say I can almost move again. Sitting in the car for the 2 hour drive home post-match last Saturday, and then looking after godson Oliver and his twin sisters for a few hours with Mr H while poor Claire &…

Radio 2 gig in Hyde Park – awesome!
So – when Mr H was meant to be away cycling the length of Britain, I said yes to Pam to come along to some Radio 2 gig in Hyde Park. Not a clue what it was, but at least it'd be a good day out chinwagging and boozing in the park with some chums.…

Godson Oliver’s 7th Birthday Party
Blimey – young Oliver White is 7 already. Tallest lad in his class so you'd think he was more like 8-9 but the leap for joy he gave when he got a spare at his birthday bowling bash showed he probably is more 7 really… it was rather sweet. Major brownie points to Claire & Jon…

Grrr, bugger – bye bye holiday
So – the Hawksey back saga continues. Poor man is still in a lot of schtuck – had to go to Parkside yesterday to have an epidural, to see if that might reduce the prolapsed bit around his vertebra and release the nerve that is causing him have limited strength nor feeling in one of his legs. He…

Poor Hawksey
So – not only did poor Hawksey have to pull out of doing the Land's End to John O'Groats bike ride that he's been training so hard for all year, but he's now in real schtuk with his back and having to go see a specialist tonight. It seems like the pain he's in is…

Prof Minor Victory
Blimey, it's a game of swings and roundabouts isn't it? Having been a bit gutted to be shifted from the relative peace and 'able to forget about it for a bit' cycle of 3 monthly appointments to having to do bloods monthly and then see him every third time, I went in this week with…

All Very ‘Mantical
That's Ro-Mantical, in case you weren't sure. Had a top banana day this Thurs as went back to sunny Dorset to see Lulworth Castle, the scene of our 'totes 'mantical' nuptials. Wandered around the grounds in the afternoon, snarfing a bottle of fizz with the Hubster in celebration then went back for the main event that eve.…

Bit disappointing
Just had latest PP scores back – in 1.5 months it's gone up 0.56, an 8.2% rise. Not terrible but not as good as the very slow ones of late, nor the extra nice (miraculous) ones where it had actually gone down.. Actually haven't had a percentage jump like that for about a year, so…
